It’s been a while!

I’ve meant to keep a somewhat consistent blog, but it turns out that’s a little tricky when life gets busy for a few months of the year! While I do hope to share farm updates here, my monthly newsletters will probably carry most of that news. I likely won’t write every month, but now that we’re dipping our toes into growing garlic, I’d love to share some of my favourite recipes and ways to use it too.

This growing season was a tough one. Honestly, nothing seemed to go quite right. Between the weather, the growing conditions, working two jobs, and trying to take care of myself, it was a lot. But we’ve made it to the tail end of it all, and I’ve come out the other side with a few more lessons and a better idea of what to do next year. That’s the rhythm of this life—learning, adapting, and keeping at it. I’ve got a couple rows left to prep for spring, some compost to haul, and tulips to plant, then I’m calling it done! It should only take a day or two, so I’ll be wrapping things up by the end of October. After that, I’ll be taking a bit of time to rest, reset, and plan for next summer.

My sales outlets might look a little different next year—you might see me at some new markets, or not at a few others. It’s all part of finding a better balance and keeping things enjoyable. I’m also hoping to host a few more workshops, which I’ll announce in the new year. I had a feeling I’d enjoy them, but the everlasting pumpkin workshops were such a highlight for me! I’m also hoping for a couple more chances to host events on the farm.

For now, these posts will stay on the shorter side while I figure out exactly how I want to use this space.
